The Suffy Experience, Bali

By Marie – Thérèse Ukpo for Suffy Travels

Travelling to Bali, Indonesia as a Nigerian passport holder requires a fair bit of preparation as the Embassy of Indonesia in Abuja are not nearly as welcoming as they appear to be on their website. The visa requirements are designed in such a way that makes it nearly impossible for tourists to attain without the right assistance; that’s where Suffy Travels comes in! You’ll have to contact us for the boring details. 😉

At Murtala Mohammed Airport, we were met by the Suffy Protocol Officer who led us from the airline desk through immigration to the official start of The Suffy Experience in the Qatar Airways Airbus A330 business class cabin. Arriving at Bali, Indonesia we were met at the aircraft and given VIP assistance at immigration and baggage claim, after which we met and lei’d by our very friendly holiday guide and personal chauffeur at the arrival terminal who were with us throughout our holiday and took care of our every whim.

Villa 15 at the opulent Kunja Villas and Spa in the heart of Seminyak was our home away from home. We had a grand living area, a private pool and a fully equipped kitchen all to ourselves! Also, the fact that we had the pleasure of having a private chef cook our breakfast every morning... didn’t hurt.

We will always have a never-ending love affair with The Island of Bali, Indonesia as she welcomed us with open arms for an unforgettable experience; it is a haven of natural beauty and vibrant heritage from its breath-taking landscapes, pristine waterfalls and picturesque beaches to its grand temples and of course mouth-watering cuisine.

Favourite Places to Eat

There’s a lot more to the Bali dining scene than nasi goreng (Indonesian stir - fried rice) and babi guling (suckling pig). The ever-changing Island that is full of surprises buzzes with award winning chefs, energetic venues, reservation waitlists and a culinary journey of texture, contrasts and flavour.

Must Do’s in Bali:

Beach Clubs in Uluwatu & Waterfalls in Ubud

Bali is blessed with some of the most picturesque beaches in the world but Uluwatu has the most pristine waters and the most luxurious beach clubs in Bali.

Our jaws dropped at the amazing views of Karma Beach Club as we descended in the cable car down the cliffs and we had the exact same reaction at Sundays Beach Club. Seaside lounge with your feet tucked in the sand while soaking up the Balinese rays and indulge in their extensive gourmet food and drinks menu for the perfect day in Bali!

The Island of Bali is home to a plethora of sensational waterfalls that pictures will NEVER do justice and the mystic hidden gem that is Tibumana Waterfall in Bangli, Ubud is our absolute favourite.

I felt the deepest level of serenity while standing at the base of the waterfall with my eyes shut and feeling the water gush against my skin; I’ve never stronger connection to myself, Ubud’ll do that to ya! Arrive there early in the morning to have the waterfall all to yourself.

Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Visit the mind – blowing rice terraces of Tegallalang, Ubud to revel in the most breathtakingly stunning views of natural scenery and landscaping.

Water Rafting on the Ayung River

The Ayung River, Ubud is the longest and most alluring river in Bali and one of the best ways to experience it is by an electrifying water rafting adventure.

Top 3 Travel Essentials

Sun Cream: During dry season, Bali has very strong UV rays. Ensure your skin stays healthy by protecting it.

Digital Camera: There is so much jaw dropping beauty in the Island of Bali, which we feel needs to be captured in high quality images.

Comfortable Shoes: You’ll need a pair for trekking through rice terraces and hiking down cliffs to get to waterfalls.

Why I Would Come Back:
